if you were given an option to choose a supernatural power, would it be the power to:- 1) turn back time - you will be able to change the past 2) foresee future - you will be able to change the future don't be greedy, you can only pick one! please tell the reason too!

If I had to choose one it would be foresee the future. Changing the past can be a tricky thing, because you never know what you change might effect other people aswell. It will become an effect somewhat like domino and if you are very, very unlucky it might even result in people never being born, wars that escalate which otherwise would never been there, your partner running into someone else before they have ever met you, and tons of other scenarios. I don't believe in changing your past, you live with it and move on. If you can do good deeds in the future and saving peoples life there is no mess left like with changing the past; or at least in another way. And because you can foresee the future you also know what will happen with whatever you decide. It's saver!

Given a chance, I too would turn back time and change some things in the past, with an eye to my current situation and probable future. There've been plenty of times I second-guessed my past decisions, and would like to change some of those now that I know their consequences.

but don't you think that maybe after the changes, it gets worse than before the changes you made?

Well, I'm not planning on changing ALL my past decisions, just those whose consequences were and are unfavorable/unpleasant for me. As I said, I've already experienced/am experiencing the results of such decisions, and therefore changing parts of my past should surely produce other more tolerable consequences.

i got your points. but somehow if i was given a chance to turn back time i would be afraid to. if i change a decision in the past it might be good for that matter but maybe will affect other matters which is now already good to become worse.:)

lol its not constant so it can happen at anytime.. which drives me nuts.. and it can go from happening all the time to not happening for years.. so crazy but i rather have it than go back and risk changing the wrong thing

Oh it is a very interesting question! I think I would like to turn back the time and change the pass. I would like to go back at one point and change something. Forseeing the future is not bad but if you could change the pass, you could know what is going to happen and do better so goig back to the pass is just kinda like foreseeing the future! :-)

going back to the past is kind of like foreseeing the future but it's not really like. LOL! by changing the mistakes in the past you still unsure what the outcome would be in the future (it would be better or worse), but by foreseeing the future you could prepare yourself not to do the mistakes in the future.:)

I would like to foresee the future. At least I would know what could happen and try to change it before it happens. There is so much in my life that I would have liked to have known before hand so that way I could have prevented it happening if I could.

this means that you just let the past be the past & you are focusing more to the future ahead. although you have a little regret of your past, but you just took it as a lesson & move on. that's great!

victorywp another great topic well done. i would have to with turn back time. There are some collosal mistakes in my past, i would surely love to go back and do the right thing, hopefully you would not make the same mistakes. That would be awful, it was bad enough the first time.

since it was bad enough for the first time, i hope that after you changed your mistakes in the past, the outcome would be better than before. i wonder if it becomes even worse than before, what would you feel? LOL!

I want to foresee the future. As the past is passed, even if I can change it, but the result may not be better. It may be even worse, who knows? The future is unknown and I am so curious to it. I love China

I don't know what the future holds so if I see it, no telling if I will want to change something. But I can think of a few things in the past that I might want to change.

I would choose the past, because I have wished for the ability to turn back time for a long time. I would go back to my school days and choose to go to University and I would NOT marry my childhood sweetheart; that would just be the start! You know what would be even nicer about going back in time? To know then what I know now! So yes I would like to go back and change the past because that would change my future and if I could take whatever wisdom I have today with me that would be perfect!

i dont wanna choose actually because life is like this.. but for this discussion, i wanna forsee the future. past is past so i will leave it as like that. i wanna foresee the future so that i can know what will happen and if the future is not right maybe i can do something of my present to arrived on the future that i want... and i can help other people as well.. how about you, what you wanna choose?

i have the same thinking with you actually. i will choose the ability to foresee my future so that i can know what to do & what not to do in my present days for the best of my coming future. i will choose the ability to turn back time ONLY IF i have involved in any accident that made me lost any part of my body. in that case, foresee my future will not help me any better. but i'm not in that category, so to turn back time suits me more.:)

well,i guess for me thats the risk i have to take.while fixing the past wouldnt guarantee me a good future,it would allow me to atleast feel good knowing that i have accomplished something right in my past.

yes, i understand your point. at least you know that you have made the right decision no matter what the outcome would be. anyway, if you have the power to turn back time, you could always turn back time anytime when you are unhappy with a certain results. LOL!

yes, the future depends on what happened in the past. if we could turn back time to fix something, the future would surely be different. however, fixing something in the past might not turned up to be what you expected in the future & it might even be much more worse than you expected.:D

Definitely I would want to turn back time. Since my time is nearing to the end of the tunnel, I hope and dream that I have this magical power to turn back the clock and to be where I was some 20 -30 years back and complete all what I have neglected and took for granted in my younger days. I wish I knew that marriage is a hell on earth and would be happy to be a spinster for the rest of my life.

Hi, friend. I remember a saying or a cliche which goes something like, 'Let the future bother of itself.' In a way, I believe in this because nobody knows what would happen tomorrow so we should take one day at a time. And if I were to choose between the 2 supernatural powers you mentioned, I guess I would go for the first one - or the power to go back in time and change some faults and misdoings I have done in the past. Personally, I have to admit that I'm not perfect and that I have made some mistakes which I'm regretful of now; specially because I'm currently experiencing the effects of these wrongdoings I have done in the past. I feel that my life will be a lot more easier and joyful if I haven't taken the wrong choices leading to a difficult path I'm traversing now. But I guess the only positive thing which I got from these mistakes are lessons for me to grow stronger. Now that I'm already married with 1 daughter for a child, I'm trying my best to be a great positive example for her to follow.

hi mykmari! power to turn back time is nice! but the disadvantage is that if you change your decision in the past, the outcome might turned out to be not as you expected (or even worse than before). for instance, you might not ended up married with your husband now or having a daughter.

I would choose to foresee the future. Because if you can see what is going to happen you can make your decisions based on what you see and being able to see what will happen hopefully you will make the right choice so that you will not have the need to go back in time.

based on what you had said, won't it be better to choose go back in time? if you foresee the future and made your decision but the outcome wasn't what you want, you can't go back in time... but if you had chosen go back in time instead, you might not know what the future holds for you but you can still go back in time to change it if it doesn't suit you...

I want to see the future. There's no use getting hooked on the past. It has happened. And I always believe that everything has a purpose for happening. So I wanna see the future. So I'll avoid making big mistakes. I hope I could see winning lottery number combinations too.LOL

LOL! that could make you to become a multi-millionaire or even a billionaire in a short time if you are able to see winning lottery number combinations! however, the disadvantage is that you might become the target for the robbers, making your life always in danger.:o

yes, you are right that everything has good & bad in it. eventhough you could foresee your future & avoid the robbers before they could do anything to you, but your life will always be in worry on how to deal with robbers. LOL!

no question, hands down I pick turning back time. And I would choose it so I can fix the things I've done wrong in the past. I would choose not to hurt the people that I have hurt or at least make amends with them. For me the future is dependent what your past was. It doesnt matter if you'd be able to see the future, if you dont fix things now there's a big possibility that your future would probably suck.
