do cat lovers hate hello kitty?

see blog entry: http://selenakyle.blogspot.com/2008/07/mutually-exclusive.html most die-hard hello kitty fans i know of aren't really cat lovers. and most cat lovers i know don't care much about the "feline" sanrio character, myself included. in fact, i can't stand the thought of people even considering hello kitty to represent the felinekind. seems a little insulting. she's kind of too wimpy to be a cat. what do you think?
