The Learning Channel has a show featuring a family who have twins and sextuplets who are known as Jon & Kate + 8. Jon & Kate + 8 recently moved from a middle class home into an estate in the 'country' of a type called a McMansion. They are doing this on the backs of 'freebies' given to them by The Learning Channel, Corporations, and Advertisers. while the country is undergoing the toughest economic times sense the Depression of the 1930's. * There are several opinions floating about the web regarding the decisions made by Jon & Kate to televise much of the lives of their eight children. These run the gambit of simply being cute to simple greed. * Some, including child mental health specialists, fear that filming much of a child's life will have long term consequence for the child later in life.
