CBO (Congressional Budget Office) analysis of STIMULUS PACKAGE!

Yes, it is true. The CBO runs actual numbers on all kinds of governmental matters. One of their latest efforts concerns the STIMULUS PACKAGE. You can read a summary of that analysis and find a link to the actual report here. http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=43704 I say that if the CBO is correct (they usually are) that the stimulus package will provide only a short lived slight increase in wages and economic activity with the cost being a long term decrease, then who needs it? What do you say?

Hi Red, I actually took the time to read a big chunk of the stumulus package when they put it online. What a sicko bunch of pork. It definitely was the Alaskan Bridge to nowhere. It is not going to help the country. It may help a few rich get richer, but we won't. It may even be the undoing of our economy if someone does not do something quick to fix this ungodly mess!! The really paranoid conspiracy nuts among us think 0bama is purposely causing the "undoing of our economy".

Agreed. 0bama is not the 'brains' behind what is going on.

You mean, I can have my tax dollars actually contribute to lowering my income AND increase future tax rates!!! Where do I sign up? Oh, wait. The Liberals, Democrats, Celebrities, Media and non-thinking American populous already signed me up. Thanks for the link.

Golly... Gee... Whiz... when you express a reaction to glorious 0bama's stimulus package in those terms, of course, you are against it! Too bad for all of us you are exactly right.

I say this ill-advised pile of steaming pork is going to hurt the economy much more than help. If the 0bamunist really was interested in the economy, then the thing to have done was cut taxes and spending. Instead, he is trying the same failed policies of FDR. I believe the 0bamunist to be suffering from delusions of grandeur... and the next several generations will be paying for it.

It would be interesting to know if 0bama is suffering from delusions of grandeur. He very well may be. Certainly, if he believes the stiumulus bill is not a disaster but a work of economic genius, he is delusional in some way or the other.

That being the case, why do people insist that the stimulus package go through? This reminds me of gambling. Common sense and experience tell that you could win big or you could lose big. Most of the time...most of the people, do not win big. People lose. Do all your neighbors come back from their casino vacations and tell you that they won enough to pay off the mortgage? NO...but now the casinos are always trying to tell you about their big winnings and how it could be you, too! It is like that little bit of hope that it might work...but you will have to risk big just to try to find out. Are you going to go with common sense and experience or are you going to go with that little glimmer of hope that says it might just be you? When it comes to a Stimulus package like this that even the CBO is telling you that you are going to lose, why play? I suppose there are enough people who like Obama's casino. I am not one of them.

Some people, (Bill Clinton was one) make themselves feel smart by deceiving other people. 0bama might be one.

I don't think it is going to live 4 years. We are a 14 Trillion dollar country industry wise. What is 1.1 trillion or 800 billion going to touch in a 14 trillion dollar economy. This is like taking water from the deep end and pouring it into the shallow end, but the shallow end never gets deeper. This is just crazy. You can't increase spending and not increase taxes. The american people need to wake up and ask for the RIGHT change not just anything that comes along. I know we are tired of all the crap, but think straight.

The analogy of deepening the shallow end of the pool by taking water from deep end is pretty neat. Thanks, for the response.
