Dian is a contraceptive pill. It is being recommended by doctors to patients who have PCOS. One possible reason for the "clear-skin" theory is because it is a hormone pill. I've used it for 6months to treat my PCOS and I don't think it did clear my skin. Before you do use it, ask your doctor first because it is a oral contraceptive and even if the packaging instructions say that it does not have side effects, they do.

I think the pills you are talking about are marketted and prescribed here (UK) as Diannette. I have been given them but have not yet started them. Upon reading the leaflet that comes with them, I saw it states that they help to reduce excess hair growth (like hair you have on your arms, or torso for example) and also prevent acne/spots. How it does this is that it not only contains female hormones, but also it counteracts the natural male hormone that women have, which having too much of can cause spots and extra hair. It doesnt get rid of existing spots though, it only stops new ones from being produced. it sounds interesting, and im hoping they are effective, both for stopping spots and also as a contraceptive as that is what i am primarily using it for!
