Any Oscar Fans Out There?

This is Oscar weekend folks. On Saturday AMC movie theaters play an all day movie marathon of all 5 best picture nominated films. I will be there will bells on, food in my purse and crocheting so I don't die from boredom during Frost Nixon. Then on Sunday is the awards themselves hosted by Hugh Jackman. I have the TiVO set just in case I forget (like I could). I look forward to both of these events every year. Does anyone else watch the AMC showcase or watch the Oscars? What are some of your favorite moments?

I've been watching it a couple of years here and there. I was there when Halle and Denzel won it around 2001; When Jamie Foxx won it in 2005; and when Ruby Dee went up for it last year although personally, she should have gotten a Lifetime Achievement but ok. This year, the Oscars coincide with Mardi Gras down here, so my attentions will be between the both. I am happy for Taraji P.Henson and Viola Davis. but it's a tight one again.

One of my Favs was when Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan. This year I will be disappointed if Heath Ledger doesn't get, as I was disappointed that they slighted Brokeback Mountain in favor of whatever won that year. The Oscars have their moments some good and some bad.

Saving Private Ryan being beat out by Shakespeare in Love? well, when Out of Africa beat out The Color Purple, I was real ticked. Big time. But then again, these things happen.

I can certainly say that I'm an Oscar fan. I've always been interested in movies, and I've been watching the Oscars, since I was in my early teens. I can say that the Oscars that I've watched have had good and okay moments, which can be said for any other award show, or tv show, or something. But I still like to watch it. I enjoy it, and find it entertaining for the most part.

Yes, I enjoy the Oscars. I listen to them if I'm not watching them. I also make sure to find out the results in case I missed anything. I used to do Oscar predictions until I simply got bored with it and decided to stop.
I do watch AMC often anyway, so I have seen the nominated/award winning movies there.
