For my very first blog in this website, I would like to focus on the greatest Filipino band in the Philippines, none other than, The Eraserheads. I believe that most of the Filipino citizens would agree with me on this, especially those who live in the 90's era. The Eraserheads reign supreme the in Philippine music industry in the mid-90's providing us hits like 'Ligaya', 'Toyang', the very infamous 'Pare Ko', 'With a Smile', 'Alapaap', 'Torpedo', 'Overdrive', 'Ang Huling El Bimbo' and many more (you may check out the Eraserheads Anthology for the list of their hits).
I won't be discussing the details and their musical discography furthermore for their are tons of websites and blogs that already discuss them. I just want to re-live the moments of the first reunion concert last August 30, 2008 in The Fort. Thousands of Eheads fans came to witness the legendary night for I believe it's the biggest musical affair of 2008. Of course, I'm one of those thousands of people who came there and enjoy the show. From the start of the show, everyone were so excited and everybody's screaming specially when we heard the base line of the song 'Alapaap', everybody knows this song. From the start til the 15 songs were finished, everyone enjoys the show especially those real Eheads fanatic, just like me. Until the sad news came, Ely Buendia was not in good condition to perform the second set. And so, the concert was cut short, but hey the good news was there was another set of concert scheduled on March 7, 2009.
The first concert was legendary and expect that this upcoming concert entitled Eraserheads: The Final Set will be much better than the first one. I hope that they would be able to complete this one, hopefully this time, Ely's in very good condition to complete the concert. Hope to see every Eheads fanatic to come and witness the final show of the greatest Filipino band in the Philippines.
The Eraserheads may be gone after this show but their music will always live forever in our hearts. Mabuhay ang Eraserheads!!!
