Turning the tables on home invaders! That's what happened in western Washington state, recently. They got a taste of their own medicine and apparently didn't like it much.

Now, my problem is this: perhaps, technically speaking, the home owner was "stealing", but really.....he was TELLING police dispatch he had the vehicle. And, he parked it around the corner and told the police where it was. Hello?? If he hadn't done that, he'd have lost his property and they might not have any evidence against these people (who they are still looking for, so that implies to me that the plates didn't belong to that vehicle, so HAVING the vehicle is a good thing, not a bad thing).
I agree with him that it was simultaneously a smart AND a stupid thing to do, but criminal? No - not hardly. I'm more concerned that the people who kicked in his door will be royally p1ssed and come back to get him for it.
How about you? Do you think this was a pretty cool thing to happen to the crooks (I do)? Do you share my potential concerns for the home owner? Are you, like I, happy they didn't get away with his stuff?

Hey jerz! I don't really think that the stupid thieves would
be that stupid to come after the stupid man who was smart or
stupid enough to take their van! I think that would be pretty
stupid on their part to come back to the scene of the crimes?
I do think that this guy wasn't thinking quite clearly when
he jumped into the van, but he was trying to stop the thieves
from getting away with his stuff! He did accomplish that! I',
not sure how this will go down since he himself was then
committing a crime himself, but he did stop himself from being
robbed!

LOL I read about this in the paper yesterday and busted up laughing at what the homeowner did to the crooks. Double thumbs up here.
I wouldn't be concerned about the van. He didn't actually steal it anyways, just moved it out of his way.
