Sleep benefits are one of the main reasons I practice yoga. I also enjoy that it keeps my body feeling opened up and more relaxed. The mental benefits are hard to put into words. In general, I feel that dealing with the minutia of day-to-day life just flows more smoothly when my yoga practice is going well.
I definitely feel there are healing benefits to yoga. It is very different and individual for everyone. For me, it helps me be more aware of my body and if it is functioning at its best.
I have recently started again after sometime away. I don't think I will allow it to get bumped out of importance in my life ever again. I'd be interested to know if you have that same experience.

Everyone has put in a good response, but yours is probably the most comprehensive. Like yourself I have come back to yoga and will attempt to have the discipline to stick at it. With our yoga teacher, we have to book blocks of lessons, so we commit. This, rather than on a drop-in basis, which I have done with other yoga teachers. Of course there is some flexibility, for holidays etc.
On a different note, am curious about your 'handle', is it just a play on words, or is this actually a hobby for you.
Anyway, shall award you BR!

I love doing yoga, it makes me feel better all around. I sleep better, I have more energy, and I am finding myself less hungry, probably because I am not just sitting around doing nothing.

I would love to try out yoga at a class. I have tried a few yoga poses that I saw in a book I borrowed from the library. I think yoga is meant to be very relaxing and it might help to play some tranquil like music. It is great that you sleep more easlily after a session of yoga.

If you can, getting to a yoga class is very beneficial, as it provides a structured environment, with motivation from the teacher! And I can confirm that it is relaxing, with tranquil music being beneficial!!! Thank you for your comment.

I did yoga for about 2 years but a lower back problem that I had forced me to stop. I think I have resolved the back problem and might like to get back into it again. Mostly it helped with my back pain and made me more flexible. The teacher also did a lot of abs work and some things for upper body strength.

Thank you for your contribution. One of the beauties of yoga is that you can do the moves in a way that suits your state of health. Of course a good yoga teacher will tell you this. All the best for when you decide to get back into yoga.
