i do have seen members who has no discussion started.... well specially the new ones. but what makes me shock are members who are 100 post or more who has no discussion started. i mean so that member is only here and responding, that makes me wonder and find it odd at the same time. when someone responded my discussion i always go to his/her profile to find discussion that he/she started that i can respond to. but sometimes there are members who has no discussion started and that makes me wonder WOW!!! i cant do that. har har har.

My thoughts are that new members just reply to other discussions at first to get an idea of myLot. I am new to the site as well and I did not start any discussions at first. I was the same just replying to other discussions. My post count was well over 200 before I started my own discussions. I have not started many discussions on here but I do reply to a lot of others and find it fun. I think it does not really matter if people do not start discussions, just as long as they have something good or fun to add to other discussions.

hi there cool user name you have. if a member is quite a newbie then that wont bring any shock for me. but example this http://www.mylot.com/ds6413/discussions?t=start he responded to one of my discussion so i went to his profile and found nothing. . i would really like to respond on one of his discussion and it was quite a shock to see that he is on his 600+ post but no discussion started yet. of course he can do that no one is saying that he cant it is just a big wonder for me and amazement as well. thanks a lot for the response

yes quite strange. it is understandable if the member is a newbie and just like you said it is good testing the water first before diving in. well i think he does not know how to swim har har har that is why all he did is to test the water. joke....

maybe they don,t have anything to say we all have a voice here maybe they don,t want to be heard are just laying back taking it cool.sure it odd because there is plenty to discuss.sometimes your mind just go blink and you just can,t come up with something to say.it,s not as easy as we would think to start a discussion.

hmmmm.... it is not easy to start when you area newbie i guess and when you are somehow an old member. but if you are around 500+ post i dont think that you will not have anything in mind to start. there are a lot of interest that you can choose from. oh well maybe they are just having fun respooding though it is wierd for me. thanks a lot for the response

Give our new friend some times to overcome the shyness or shock he or she has, then everything will go on smoothly later on, the first topic is always the hardest to come by based on my personal experience in Mylot. Happy mylottting, my friend.

Yes, I think thezone is right. When I started on here, 3 weeks ago, I think, I wanted to know how it all worked, so I was just responding. Then I started thinking of things to start discussions about.

Yes I think it is wise just to test "the waters" of any site before you dive straight in. So far myLot is a lot of fun.

I am new, I just joined today. The first thing I did was respond to someones post. I couldn't figure out how to create my own post at first. Also, maybe they don't feel that have anything to contribute. Or maybe they are trying to get ideas on what to talk about through reading many posts and in the process decide to comment on what they are reading about. Anyways, this is now offically my favorite website. Although I don't know if I am doing my discussions right because I don't seem to have any responses except on the one that says I am new. haha!

welcome to the wonderful world of mylot. just as i said in my discusion it is very understandable if a new member like you has not started any discussion. but if a person or a member is here for quite a long time already it is kind of strange to find them not starting a discussion even one. thanks a lot for the response and have a happy mylot day.

I think that some people like to responde more then starting a discussion maybe because they don't know what to start a discussion about or maybe they just don't want to,not sure but I hope to start more discussions in the future I hope that you have a great day.

i like to respond too. mostly that is what i do. i surf around and find interesting discussion, post a responce and read others response as well. it is much easier to post a response than to think on what discussion to start but it would be fun to know what will other members can say about your own started discussion. thanks a lot for the response

Hi se7, I have tried that also. It was a new member responding in my post and I checked her profile to respond also in her post and found out that she didn't start anything! She was active responding! But, I have not seen any older member here who have not posted anything! Maybe for newbie, this is common! Enjoy!

hi che, check the link that i paste on the comment of the second responder. that is the reason why i started this discussion. i was waiting for him to response on this one to know his side but i guess he is not on my friends list. newbie is understandable for they are still trying to learn but a member with 600+ post unbelievable. thanks a lot for the response

I think I've started maybe 2 or 3. I really prefer answering an existing post than to starting one. I don't know, I guess I really can't think of anything to start one about.

wow. its like he has nothing to ask to mylot members but he has knowledge to response. i mean that would be selfish for me.... that would be my view. mylot is a discussion site you open something that others will response to not only you responding. it has to be a two way street. that is my view to this. thanks a lot for the response

I guess that everyone has different things that they are looking for here on mylot. Some of them are just here to make friends and chat, others are here to make some money and I am sure that there are lots of other reasons that people join as well. I don'tfind it that surprising but it is a little strange, especially for someone that has been here for a while.

good point crivas.... strange. if most of us will just respond then mylot will be a boring site dont you think? i mean if there are nore member who will respond and a few only will start a discussion then when you are finish responding on the discussion that interest you then i t will be boring already. well.... it was justa discussion thanks a lot for dropping by. hope to see you more.
