What size picture can i send text wise to my cell via email?

i can email to my cell phone and it show up at as text on my cell phone end but i have tried to email/text a picture to my phone but i guess its always been too big because it never delivers it.. what size do i need to resize it to send it and it go through as a text? i dont have internet on my phone or email so it has to be text/pic message etc.. i have verizon

A typical phone message for MMS is about 300k.
And the phone will limit the size of the picture to just under 300k in order for it to send out.
I guess for receiving, it would be the same.
So you can try with a 300k picture first.
If you are using the higher end handsets like those smartphones or PDAs, then the size can go up to as big as 600k.

I don't know the exact size, off hand but you may just want to mess around with it. normally when the file is too big I get a "file too big" (or something similiar) error.
You may have a file format issue. Myphone doens't like jpg, has to be jpeg...

mine just said "image deleted or file deleted" and thats it.. hmm

The last pictures I uploaded to my phone and sent to my hubby was:

(it was a square picture of the V-day gift he got me b/c he wanted to show it off to his buddies lol)
