So, is clicking ads "to show appreciation" good or bad? Your opinions?

Hello all! As I am a total newbie in blogging and websites etc...and use adsense, I am wondering how things work! I' ve read several discussions, that clicking without any intention to buy something is bad, as it creates faulty impressions and misleadings for the advertiser.. I used to click on other ppl ads (when I found something interesting, but I also have many interests :p), but after reading such discussions that clicking like that is bad, I stopped doing it! So, I would like to know what you think on this subject!
