I haven't been feeling well for the past few days, and I really think that I am coming down with the flu. I have aches and pain, and I just feel really sick. I wish there was a way to stop it from coming, but I think I already have it so there isn't really anything I can do about it. I'm suppose to work tonight, but I'm not sure that I really feel up to. I haven't taken a sick day yet, but I worry that I might get fired for not working tonight. Blah. I bartend so I don't think it is in the best interest for other people for me to be bartending and passing my flu bug onto all of them. I don't know whether I should just suck it up and go or stay home tonight and get better. What do you do when you have the flu? Do you have any flu remedies? Do you usually go to work even when you are sick, or just take a day off? Thanks for all your comments.

I don't go to work when I'm sick. Anyhow, you should try just taking some fluids, and decongestant for the runny nose, and paracetamol for the fever. Just make sure you have a lot of fluids. But you know what, just show up there, and if they see that you're really sick, I think they'd get the idea and let you off work earlier. It's better they really see you there (so that you could pass it on - hahaha) plus they'd see that you're not making up an excuse for being absent. Wish you'll feel better soon! It's good that you can't pass your virus in the mylot community, else I'd be getting that one too. Further, they'd say that ascorbic acid or vitamin c helps with flu to stop, so perhaps grab some juice or vitamin c's.

i wonder if a sick person could still travel from home to work, laydee. since you have advised this, i think that this is what you do when you feel sick. perhaps there are some of us who are still able to travel from home to work although sick. in this case, i think that our friend here must be accompanied by someone while doing so. a sick person feels dizzy and disoriented. it will risky to be traveling alone in this state.

awwww thats sad. Feel better soon kay. You should try drinking sleepy time tea. It helps you sleep if your sick or lacking sleep. Its works really well for colds and flu's You should try to stay home and have a day to yourself. Run a hot bath with some bubbles and relax in it for about 15 minutes. then make yourself some chicken soup and grab a good book to read.

I just got over being sick. I couldn't do anything other then stay in bed. If I stood up for more then a few minutes I got really woozey and felt like I was going to pass out. I was in bed all night, all day, then all night again and then half the next day. I haven't been sick like that in many years. I feel lots better now, I still feel weak some. It kicked me in the behind. I hope you feel better real soon.

when i get the signs about having the flu, i will immediately take tuseran forte or bioflu. this shall be followed by concocting a gallon of fruit juice. i take a lot of vitamin c rich fruits also. i will surely be resting at home. and so, the fruits (like oranges and watermelons, apples and grapes) plus a liter of water and the gallon of fruit juice are all kept by my side. i will have to consume plentiful of all of them. once i get a sound sleep, i will definitely be awakened hours later feeling much better. the following day will see me already up and about but i won't be reporting for work yet. i will report for work on the third day after having had been ill. otherwise, there is a probability that my body will find much difficulty in totally recovering from being sick. so my advise for you, tlb, have that much needed rest. when we get sick, our body is actually asking to be having a good rest from all the work that we do everyday.

it depends can you afford to stay home KWIM? If your job doesn't provide sick time and you are just scraping by I'd go in and have them send me home. Especially if you feel if you call in that your job will be on the line and these days jobs aren't easy to come by no matter your experience or education KWIM? Good luck to you & feel better soon!

Hey tlb! I really think that if you are coming down with the flu that you should stay home. You won't feel better and you just might feel worse! That usually is what happens with the flu! The best thing to do is to drink alot of liquids like orange juice, tea-green tea if you can because they say that green tea is good for you! There isn't too much you can do for the flu since it is a virus so the best thing is to rest! Since you probably feel lousy anyway just try to keep drinking alot of fluids and sleep if you can and hopefully your beautiful little girl won't get it too or your fiancee! It is highly contagious so hopefully they won't catch it if they can stay away from you (like that's possible)! I hope you feel better!

I think the flu season is back. The sudden change of weather might have worsen the situation as everyone in my household has not escaped this illness which has attacked even the most able person in my house. I don't have any remedy but to have a good rest and drink lots of water. I apply a little medicated ointment under my nose and it will soon heal by itself.

It's so sad to hear that.Wish your get better as soon as possible. In this condition,I will consider that if the sickness will influence my work.if not,of course I will not stop my work.Contrarily,I will have a rest at home. To be good to yourself.
