If you are faced into this problem, what will you do? You're studying in university, but with ur dislike major. and in the next year, you join the other university test to get your dream major. you try so hard in order to pass the test because your dream major is in the high level passing grade. You must defeat hundreds people to pass. and the result is you are accepted in university and major that yo want, you like, you dream. It happens because of your hard work. but your parents forbid you to move because they don't have enough money. and the money is for your brother's master degree fee. So, will you stand in your first decision, move to your dream? or follow your parents' desire?

Welcome to myLot, Newbie! Surely there are many cultural differences between the US and Indonesia, but I just can't imagine not going after your dreams. If your parents can't afford it, seek financial aid in every possible way. Get a good job. Do whatever you must in order to follow your dreams. After all, you don't want to spend the rest of your life in regret...

yupz there are many differences between us and indonesia, where us is a developed country and here is a developing country. the most scholarship here are for poor family. and if we work or get a job, that is so difficult if we just graduated from high school to get enough money to pay our study. well, i followed my parents'. that was not really bad. hehe

How I hope you'll bew able to follow your dream at some time before very long. Early in the 20th century, black poets wrote of their dreams being deferred by the realities of our backwards beliefs keeping them from realizing their potential. That must not continue for anyone, anywhere. I don't suggest that you run away from home, as I did, but there has to be a way for people in any country to do as they wish, especially when those wixhes wouldn't hurt anyone at all! I wish you the best!

Oh,this is a difficult question!i am also a student!but as for me,i will follow my parents' desire.because my parents have made heavy sacrifice for me to go to school.though you don't like the major, you can just pass the final exam.and you can use your after-class time to study your dream major.when you graduate, you can read Graduate in your dream major! Best wishes for you!
