Do you like to help others?

We don't have beggars where we live.The system pays them through income support.SO we never come across someone as poor as you do,but if I did I would give them something.You would have to how could you walk on by and leave them to starve.x

Helping those who are really in need is different from making a person becoming too dependent on you. If I see a beggar who does not look like a real , and I can sense that she/he's only acting like one, I'd rather not give anything because they will not learn to stand on their own. I have an experience with one of the mendicants in our hometown. She was asking for alms. Although I didn't have enough extra money for my own, I decided to share to help her by giving her a piece of bread, I was supposed to give her a 5 peso coin when she suddenly asked for 20 pesos. I was speechless for a moment and then I walked away.

I like to help others help themselves. If a person has physical problems and cannot do anything for themselves, then I will do my best to help and support them. I have seen many beggars on the streets of our city wearing designer trainers, so it seems that they are doing alright for themselves and don't need much help from me. Derek

There are so many forms of helping ple, and not just financially ^_^ I do help ple too ut not beggars as begging is illegal in singapore.. I do help to open and hold the door for ple, i do give up seats to those needy ple.. I do give way and i will help when i see ple struggling with things ^_^ When it comes to my frenz, i will go all out to help them with every possible way that i can, including physically, emotionally or even financially ^_^

Hi Rajfoe, it depends on the situation I see, but I don't give beggars money. I do it before, I give a beggar little money, and the beggar say, this little money is not enough to buy food, the money I give is enough to buy some bread to fill the stomach. That's how I experience with the beggars, so I don't give money to beggars anymore. I prefer donate to orphans in literature.

Of course I'd love to do that.. If I would have a chance I would put up a foundation to help others. Happy posting..

I forgot to say that I rarely give money to beggars directly but I contribute to charities that take care of people like that, who give them shelter and job training and feed them.

It's hard to tell which ones are addicts and which ones need help, not to mention fake beggars who make more money begging than the average worker here. I saw an article in another state I lived in where a man was begging and at night he went home to a house nicer than mine and he had an expensive car!

i do what i can to help. donating blood i think is the most important and easy way to help someone out. one pint of blood can save up to 3 lives. that's huge! the only other thing i am really able to do is donate old clothing and recycle.
