I was just recently talking to one of my college friends. We were taking about all the fun we used to have. There are alot of things I miss about college, not the going to class part but I miss the life I had when I was there. I had so much more free time. In College I went to class 3-5 hours a day, I was fortunate that I did not have to work so I had the rest of the day to do what ever I wanted.
Now its the exact opposite. I work for 8hrs and then have 3-5 hours to do want I need and want to do.
I missing hanging out at all my friends apartments, we would take turns cooking dinner. I miss going to sorority meeting and functions, there are other things..

Most of all, I miss the challenges. I miss the challenges of getting the assignments done on time and of passing the tests and stuff. I miss the feeling of knowing that I did something right once I got my grades back and saw that I passed. My life is really ordinary right now, and I am really missing the excitement I used to feel when I would see my grades and know that I had done a good job...

Yeah my life feels ordinary right now too. I miss the interaction of going to class. I had some pretty interesting proffessors that made class fun.

My life is feeling very ordinary too. My job is mundane and routine at best. There is no real challenge to it, and it is not really rewarding at all. I really need a new career or something...there has to be more to life than this...

I miss that I didn't have the college experience. I live in a college town and I rent out housing to college kids and usually parents pay for the housing. I grew poor and my parents never even discussed college with me. I knew if I wanted to go I would have to do it on my own steam. I got a job right out of high school and tried to go to college part time and found it to be too much. I was able to get high paying jobs without a college degree (course my industry was hit by this recession and I am unemployed). I am thinking it would have been nice to have those four years without having the weight of the world on my shoulders. I am not saying college is easy, but it is, in my eyes, easier than punching the clock everyday.

Im sorry you never got the chance to experience college. Higher education is not everyones path, so don't feel bad. I have a friend who was the only one out of high school that didn't go to college. He had a hard time in school and knew that college was not for him. Now he thinks he would have a better job and make more money if he had went but that is not always the case. People value experience alot more than education sometimes, at least this was my experience when I was first looking for a job.
Im sorry about your losing your job, I know how you feel, I lost my first job just as I moved into my apartment 2 years ago and i didn't know what I was going to do, but I found the job Im at now 6 months later.I hope things turn around for you real soon.
