where did God came from?

my friend is very doubtful and he really asks me a lot same question all my life.. Where did God came from?..

Personally I believe God is just another energy. It's not a person but just out of something which things have been created. An energy which we have no instruments to measure its age. Technically saying that this energy has always been.
