Are you doing anything differently than you did this time last year?

Is the stock market plunge affecting you? Are you cutting back on things? We don't buy soda anymore - we have water a lot more. Are you not spending as much? Do you still go out to eat? We don't. Are you still driving everywhere or just organizing an errand field trip where you go in a straight line and get everything done in one trip? As each day goes by I'm getting more nervous about the state of the economy. We've tightened our belt pretty good so far. I don't know what else to cut out / do without. What are you doing?

we have been living frugal for 3 years. we are never consumptive or buy branded stuffs and yet we still cut expenses due to hubby being laid off. I don't know what else to do without either. I pretty much just live my life one day at a time now, not knowing what to expect the next day or week. I heard recession will not be over in 2010, it will carry on until 2012. I'm getting nervous too. because this is worldwide, not just one country now.

Hi littlemel and thanks for the response! I know just what you mean - we don't know what to cut back on either...we just live week to week and hope for the best! I hope your husband finds work soon.

As o my case I have not made many sacrifices. We still go out for dinner once a week, we still go shopping. Yes I have stopped going to movies any more, I have stopped playing snooker. I have stopped smoking. Indeed there is an impact of recession on our lives, but I am cutting cost for my child, who will soon be arriving.

Congratulations! A child is a blessing and definitely somebody to plan for their arrival. Thank goodness you haven't had to cut back too much.
