I have watched Slumdog Millionaire and the movie is so fantastic. My heart was so drenched with pity and sympathy for the plight of the people living in the slums. I do feel especially for the young children and women mostly. This movie makes me more aware of my own life and to always be grateful with what God gives.
It's no surprise that this movie is a total eye-opener and it truly deserves all the awards that it has won in the Oscar. One of the most touching part of all would be the one where the kids who can sing would have to be blinded because they are more 'valuable' in that sense. I feel that perhaps there are real life situations like that, but I'm none too sure. Anyway, Slumdog Millionaire is really good and I think everyone should watch it should they have yet to.

No I haven't seen the Movie yet, I can watch Moives on my Computer, even the new ones. I heard that the little girls stepfather tried to sale her for $300,000 that was crazy. Look like he is hungry for money!

I saw the movie, and the prejudices of those in power was very much believable. It's a pity a society would treat a child in that manner, but alas, such is the nature of religion-intolerant/capitalist-torture-based environments.
Pele the Conqueror was an earlier film based in Scandinavian countries about such prejudices - such vicious acts are not confined to any one source on the globe. All the global powers have it, and they contaminate everyone with their lies and violence.

That was the most moving part of the movie for me, the way India was depicted. In the beginning when the young boys were running through the streets and scurrying across roof tops, I was choked up at the India I was seeing. It's a little difficult to pick up on if you are not from India but I have heard of the caste system and the concept of class discrimination. That was deeper than the love story the movie was centered around. I was truly moved by India more so than the "chase."
I'd recommend the movie to anyone who hasn't seen it..
