Did you ever lie for a good act

We say that truth is what we should always stick to, but I feel its okay to lie if we are doing it in good spirits and know that we are not harming anyone. I personally have to lie many time about my illness to my family so that they are not overly worried about me , I think this is not bad because I am trying to help someone. So what do you feel about this ? Do you always speak truth or do you find it acceptable to lie for a good cause? Have you lied for a good cause ? Share your experiences.

There is a principle called Satya which states that words should be used for the benefit of others. It is not your simple, standard way of saying truth or lie. If someone comes looking to kill someone and asks you for directions to his house, satya principle would have you say, "i don't know" or something to that effect. The concept of lying and truth is not so simple or straightforward. Cheers!!

I think lying for a good cause is reasonale,to tell the truth, you may make the others feel sad or hurt if you tell everything, they may be unable to stand the truth out of there
