Is it alright for a mom to go and work abroad leaving her kids aged 18, 16 and 14 behind under the care of their working father?

I dont think there is a problem with it, both parents are equal so it doesnt matter which parent goes.

I think it's alright. It depends on the kind of husband you have. Your kids are grown up. I left my son when he was more than two years old. With the technology we have now, you can set up a time for you to meet online. It would be a cheaper way to maintain communication and at the same time, you can monitor your children.

I don't think so. I think in 4 more years ok. But I really don't understand why people want to split up their homes. There has to be something closer, you may not make as much money, but your family could stay intact.

Well personally I will never do it since I will be really worried about them. I can work at my country without going abroad, I will miss them too much.

it would be better if the mother takes care of the children and the father will work abroad. but there are situations in life that certain sacrifices have to be made. also, it could be that it is of the best interest of everybody in the family (specially the children) for the mother to work elsewhere (probably she could land in a better paying job compared to the husband)
