Hi everyone, my sleeping pattern is well, maybe i have no pattern. Lately, i go to sleep about 11:30, 12pm and then i have been waking up at 2am and can't get back to sleep until about 4or5am. This is begining to anoy me heaps. I can usually sleep all night and wake up at 8am. I could even have a sleep in the afternoon and this didn't affect my sleep at night. What is going on? I hate being awake during the night, it is so boring. Since i don't live alone, i can't make too much noise so, i can't do much. Both other people who live here work during the day and i don't want to wake them. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I just want my sleeping pattern back. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I find that working hard during the day and getting exhausted leaves me no other option but to sleep soundly at night. There is a problem of mental stress which could prevent us from sleeping soundly. I usually meditate to relieve stress. Cheers!!

I am not working at the present, so i guess that doesn't help. I will try to keep myself busy around the house and see if that helps. Thanks for the response.

It happens when you get older. Maybe you are beginning to go through menopause, and for some it starts early, and then you find yourself waking up in the middle of the night. I have that happen to me and I am in my sixties and I tried not napping in the day, with no results. You could try cutting out coffee and tea, and drinking hot milk, not watching exciting programs on the tv, and just try to be quiet. That might help.

This started happening to me once. I kept waking up at about the same time - about 3.30am, and not being able to get back to sleep for ages. It turned out that a very noisy lorry had started going past at the same time every morning - I hadn't realised because by the time I'd woken up it was quiet, but then one night I'd got up to go to the loo and heard it.

I suppose considering the area i live in is close to the centre of town, that's it possible that something like this is happening. But i usually wake up because i need to go to the toilet and then have trouble getting back to sleep.
