You know that when people put others down it is to try to bring them to their level because they are scared to try to reach the other persons level...So take others insults as a compliment,....Do you agree? Or not? Y or Y not?

I am very bad at taking insults and return back the favors often. An insult is a harm to one's self esteem and should not be taken lightly. The one thing that you have with you is your self esteem and should try to protect it.I am generally very instinctive and react if I am being insulted.

you are right, but I dont think you should give someone enough power to be able to damage your self esteem, that is how I tend to look at it. =)

I also wanted to say, not that you cant stick up for yourself or say what you are feeling, I think you should, just mean having a verbal attack back and forth might not be the best decision as it can get out of hand very quickly.

This is true! It's also true that those who appear or act as though they are superior, are very often overcompensating to cover up feelings of inferiority.. I learned this years ago when a friend was getting under my skin (who I was riding to church with). Everything I said, she always had to one up me.. and when I was confessing to the Lord feelings about it, it was like blinders were removed and I could see her feelings of inadequacy! And instead of resenting her behavior, I then had sympathy and could smile warmly when she contradicted me.

True! IT seems most people take the easier approach which would be trying to bring the other down to their level, as opposed to the right approach which would be try to reach their level when feeling inferior! =) Thank you for your wonderful example!

I agree. I can make people angry by smiling or waving at them when they are cursing at me.
