Hi guys. I want some advice. Yesterday my lower right wisdom tooth started to hurt. It wasn't that bad so I left it be. It's hurt a little off and on, as has my other bottom one. I know that I need to have them removed, but haven't beeen able to get a place that does it for free and dental is not covered by medicaid. Even if I found a free place now, the people I talked to about having them removed before said they recommend being able to be monitored over the course of a month to ensure there are no complications. Well, in a month my fiance and I are moving to Utah, so I figured I'd wait until then and might be able to find a place that'll do it free there. However, I need a temporary solution. My tooth usually doesn't hurt for more than a few days at a time, but when it hurts, it hurts fairly bad. I can't open my mouth very wide and it hurts when I swallow because of the pressure the jaw puts on the tooth. I would like some suggestions to relieve the pain, either completely or partially. I have already taken a pain reliever, but am skeptical as to whether it will work or not as it is not meant for oral pain. Please any ideas anyone may be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Try drinking pineapple juice. It is a natural anti - inflammatory. A friend of mine had a root canal done and was told to drink a lot of pineapple juice before and after, and he had no pain at all. So I tried it, and the same thing. No pain! Your jaw probably hurts because of the swelling around the tooth. Just be careful that it's not infected. If it is, you need an antibiotic. Good luck! (And congrats on your upcoming marriage!
