i heard that LCD monitor have a lower consumption of energy than CRT monitor, is that true? how many is the differentiation of energy consumption for those monitor? if the differentiation is very big, it's must be safe more energy in my office, because my office still use many CRT monitors. but the price differentiation also very big, the LCD's price is almost twice than CRT's price. So what do you think, is LCD monitor more economic than CRT monitor?

Hi, I think that if I am going to buy monitor, I will choose LCD because it has a lot of benefits. 1st: LCD produce less heat and less radiation. 2nd: LCD is lighter in weight. 3rd: Less space is required to place an LCD. So, I will go for LCD.

Based on power consumption, you can save 50% of electric bills if you are using LCD.

I would think that the CRT monitor consumes much more...the size of those things alone makes me believe that...they give off a lot of heat as well...this must add to their consumption of energy.

LCD is better, not only do it uses lesser power, it produce lesser heat and radiation thus better on the eyes too. Its more compact so it saves space. However buy a LCD monitor with DVI input so that the picture will be better. One negative thing about LCD is that is a resolution other then the recommended resolution of the monitor is used the picture will be blurred. --------------------http://pcantz.blogspot.com/-----------------

Though it consumes lesser power than the CRT monitor, there will not be any significant difference if we use one or two in our home, when compared to their cost. But it will occupy lesser place and the quality is more .The resolution of LCD monitor is fixed one and native which is the best. But you have to view the LCD monitor staright and in case of CRT monitor, we can see it from all directions. The radiation is more in CRT and is less in LCD which is good for eye. In LCDs. there will not be any glaring effect and no distortion at all but these will be in CRT. But cost..very high for LCD when compared to the CRT.
