I was wondering if having ovarian cyst(s) could make your periods stop. I haven't had a period since the 22nd of October and 6 pregnancy tests (3 at home and 3 at the doctor's) are all negative. I was thinking I was pregnant at 1st but since all of these tests are negative I think it's safe to say I'm not pregnant. I think instead of pregnancy I think I may have a cyst on my ovary because I have been having alot of pelvic pain, gaining weight (since Nov. I have gained 10 pds), sore breasts, and feeling tired. Not REALLY bad pains but I do notice them. Anyone with cysts please respond. Btw I do have an appt. with an OB/GYN on the 25th, I just wanted some of your opinions Thank u and God Bless!

I have been dealing with this problem for a few years now. In fact, when I got pregnant with my son, I thought I was just having more problems with cysts.

I think you are speaking of policystic ovarian syndrome (you should have put this discussion in women, since this disease is VERY common inwomen). I've had it for 4 years now. It is not a cyst like the cyst you usually have on skin, but rather, cysts forming in the ovaries due to the follicle where the ovum isnot opening fully and enlarging. I too had thought I was pregnant when I was initially diagnosed with it. Weight gain is another symptom of it,as well as probably facial hair and acne. The gynae had prescribed the pill, but I heard there is a different treatment to it nowadays.Do not worry,it is a syndrome a lot of women have. I imagine you've already gone to your gynae. Please keep me updated, will you? I hope all went well. A lot of virtual hugs your way.
