I don't think anyone knows this for sure. None of the police records/pictures have been released to the public, and neither person involved has stepped up to accurately explain the picture to the media yet. So all we have at this point is what we call "Media Speculation" - and we shouldn't really trust anything the media has to say at this point, because they've been known to stretch the truth or somehow change "anonymous tips" into facts (when, in reality, who knows how credible that anon tip was?)
I personally want to wait and see the whole side of the story. From what I've gathered from the news, though, is pretty much that Chris Brown beat Rihanna up, or someone did, and she called the cops.

i don't understand when ppl say, " both sides of the story". what both sides? he beat her horrifically! that's it. there is nothing that she could have done, that would warrent that. if he had a problem with her, he should just not be with her. it's simple. even she was just a "B", it's his fault too, cause he decided to be with her. now, it's true. there must have been something inside of that girl for her to stay with him, despite the warning signs. that is something that, she (like every person who has gone through what she) has to deal with from within. we are all wounded in some way. that does not give the reason to bash other people's face in.

OK, but do you personally have the details? Did you witness it?
Of course it's WRONG no matter what if Chris Brown did attack Rihanna, but what if that wasn't the situation at all? What if someone else did? You can't honestly say there haven't been similar situations happening in the past with other celebrities in the spotlight.

Chris Brown attacked her. He bit her and he hit her. She has bruises on her body. And a swollen lip. It really is very sad that this had to happen. I really want to know exactly how all of this started.. The real truth. Not what the media says or think that they know. I hope that Rihanna will get through this. It is going to take some time for her to heal physically and emotionally. If Chris is found guilty he could serve uo to nine years in prison. Fine as he is, he will be locked up as if he is a bum.. This is a very sad story.. All the fans are shocked! Chris looked like he could not hurt a fly.. I am so sorry for the both of them.
