Books into movies....

I was kind of surprised that I couldn't find this discussion already in progress.... Simply put, which books have you read that you would like to see made into a movie and who would you like to be involved (directors, producers, actors/actresses, etc)? For me, I would say the Dresden Files. Probably just one movie with a central plot/case but incorporate all of the characters. Paul Blackthorne played Dresden in the TV series so I can't think of anyone better for the role. Also, Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. It was done on the BBC as a mini series but I would like to see a full-length theatrical feature. Maybe with Tim Burton directing. I don't know who I would put in the main roles of Richard and Door but the villains, Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar would be Danny DeVito and Vinnie Jones, respectively. I think Michael Clarke Duncan would be good as the Angel Islington.

Well, I was very happy that they made a film based on a book called Eragon. But, whem I watch the motion picture, I was so disappointed, I mean the movie was very bad. So, I don't think that making motion pictures from novels is a good thing to do. I think the film will ruin the imagination we made while reading.

There are times when I like to see books made into movies, other times I get really disappointed because the movie doesn't do the book justice. There are only a few books that I think make it good as a movie, a lot of them are the fantasy based books like Harry Potter, though there are other books that are great movies like Pride and Prejudice.

hi crimsonladybug! well, at this point, i really don't read any more books. i mean novels. but i read inspirational and self help books. when i was still single, i get to read bestsellers, so right now, i am no longer updated on the current trends. well, i would just like to see the narnia series come to life on screen. i mean, that everything will be finished. otherwise, i dunno anymore. i am soooo busy. i am working, a wife, and an expectant mom. what i do for recreation, i do together with my husband. so no more reading. hehe take care and God bless you! happy mylotting! :-)
