Hi, I'm recieving a bunch of malicious texts from one number. I have locked them all and backlogged them. I've just sent an email to my service provider asking them to block that number from contacting me. Where should I go from here?

Your service provider should be able to block that number. I know you do not want to do this but if I was you I will change my number so that you will not get any more text messages like that. That is the only thing I will suggest.

You should actually CALL your service provider and have them block that particular number? Perhaps explain to the customer service rep. your situation, and hopefully they'll figure out a way to make it work.

my custormer service rep said that they can't do anything other than disable my phone and send me a new number, which I'd rather not do as I plan to buy a new one shortly. However they told me to "phone the cops" so they said they'd be droping round tomorrow so take a note of the messages... they're particularly interested in the one which said "Ur numbas gettin put all ova the internet btw and a hink u got the hint wen csa was mentioned to scared to txt bk thought so". Should be an interesting day tomorrow.

In most cases if you push your service provider, it can become a legal matter, depending on how long you've been recieving the texts. It's a form of abuse and as such is against the law. I had this one number phoning me constantly a few years ago. To this day I still don't know who it was. I'd answer... there'd be silence and then they say random things. They never abused me, but after weeks of the calls I was so sick of them. I called my phone company and they started logging the calls for me. Then they handed it over to the police who got the person's details and served them a warning that if the calls continued they'd be charged with harrassment.
