I never use jalepenos in my cooking but when I use onions, I put water on my wrists so that I don't cry.

Does water on your wrists really prevent crying when cutting onions?

hello moneymommy
i am so sorry to hear that your hands and your mouth was burning like that after you got finished chopping up your jalapeno peppers like that. ouch is correct. lol has your mouth and hands quit burning now? i sure hope so. and the jalapeno peppers must have taken over like a strong onion would. and btw, what were you cutting up jalapeno peppers for? nachos? lol some kind of mexican food, or where you preparing homemade salsa? thanks for sharing. and that is wierd that you had gloves on while chopping up the hot peppers like that. i have always heard in dealing with the hot peppers like that of any kind to not rub your mouth or eyes or anything like that. lol well be more careful i guess the next time that you happen to be chopping up hot peppers like that.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

Well I was making another pot of chili for dinner. I only cut of 4 peppers and like I said I was very careful. The fumes I guess caused all the burning. The burning went away in about an hour. I guess next time I will wear a face mask too. lol

That stung like crazy for hours. So now I am very carefull with any hot peppers.
