Not a rental, but a great movie

Last night HBO premiered their movie "Taking Chance" starring Kevin Bacon. First of all, I love Kevin Bacon, but this was a fantastic movie. I'm still not comfortable with movies about the current "situation" in Iraq and all, since my son is active duty in the Navy. He's not in quite as much danger because he's nowhere near there, but this could still be about me. If you have HBO, I strongly suggest you watch this movie. It's very touching and based on true events. The general theme is an officer who thinks he has not done very much during this crisis and decides to be the escort for the remains of one of the fallen soldiers. It cronicles his trip and the way he and the remains are treated. As always, HBO has done a SPECTACULAR job. A "MUST SEE" in my book.

Thank you for posting this on here. I had seen him on a talk show talking about this and they showed a little clip and I really would like to see it and I had forgotten all about it. I will for sure check and see when it comes on again.

I kept seeing the previews, but never really catching when it was going to be on. We were going to watch one of our rentals Saturday but I checked HBO first to be sure there wasn't something I wanted to watch. I'm glad I checked! I'll probably watch it again one of the times it's on, it was really good.

Yes, it was very emotional. I'm not usually a big cryer, but this movie brought out some sniffles for me.

I just finished watching Taking Chance and thank you so much for starting this discussion or I would not have thought to watch it. If anyone else watches it and if you are emotional like I am you might want to have a kleenex or two handy. I can only hope and pray that each and every one of our fallen are treated with as much respect, care and love as was portrayed in this movie by Kevin Bacon and the other actors. It was also good to see Tom Wopat in the movie. It comes on again tonight.
