How did you learn how to wear makeups at first?

I am just curious about this question. It seems to me that girls pick up this skill easily. I hardly wear makeups and I found that I am not skillful at all. It's not easy for me. Then I was just wondering how girls began to learn. If you have some tips, share with me. Have a nice day.

I learned through a variety of ways. Firstly, I mimick a lot of my favorite looks from other people - celebrities, friends, and especially from older siblings & cousins. I also experiment with new styles to see what I like. Nowdays, there are YouTube makeup tutorials! So you should consider watching them! They also have a lot of how-to tips in fashion/beauty magazines like Seventeen & Glamour. Also, do you have a high-end makeup store near by your home? (For example, "MAC", "Sephora", etc). Usually, they will do your makeup for free and will give you tips as to how you can really accentuate your good features and tone down the bad ones. =)

Wow, maezee. Thank you a lot for all those tips. They are useful for me except that I can't mimic the look from my cousins and siblings because they don't wear any. I figure out that we gain any skill through trial and errors. I guess I just have to keep playing with my face

I think I at first learnt from my mom to apply lipsticks, and then I started reading books and magazines about makeup and started playing with my face! There are a lot of youtube videos about makeup too, you could search them and learn step by step!

I got the idea that most girls learn partly by watching. I guess that's also part of the reason why makeups seem to be easy for you guys too. I am playing with my face now too. Thank you for you tips. I think I can go to youtube to learn more. Have a nice day.

When I was little, I would watch my Mom and my Aunt when they put on their make-up. I learned by watching them. I always wanted to be like Mom when I was litte. Now, I don't even bother wearing any.

My mom is kind of tradition. This kind of makeup stuff is really not for her in her mind. Thus she never use makeups because it's not necessary. There is no chance for me to learn by watching. Now I need to master some skills for work's reason. Then I began to learn and wondering how others pick it up. Thanks for your response and have a nice day.

For a long time I didn't bother with makeup. But when my friend asked me to be her bridesmaid, I decided I couldn't not wear makeup, so my mom helped me with it. I had no idea what I was doing, but my mom put it on for me at the wedding. After that, I learned to put it on myself. For a while I used liquid foundation, eyeshadow and eyeliner. You just rub the foundation into your skin as if it where lotion, and you use a special little sponge to blend it in so you can't see any lines on your jawline. I maybe put my eyeshadow on a little different than most people do. I use two colors, a lighter and a darker. I put some lighter on my applicator and with quick wisking strokes, I spread it all the way up to my eyebrow. Then I put the darker color on the bottom half of my eyelid. Also, I use mineral makeup now, that's handmade. I find that the crushed minerals provide good coverage, and the minerals are good for your skin. Hope that helps you get started!

That's almost the same case for me. However, my mom never use makeups herself either. Then I could not get any help from her. Thank you for your introduction. I have been trying to use these products these days. I guess I need some practise. Have a nice day
