It's good to be home

Life is good. I've found a home here in this little town in Tennessee. Everything around here feels good. The stars in the sky. The mountains on the horizon. The smell of a warm fireplace on the cold winter air. The bright green rolling hills and open pastures in the summer time. The friendly community. Growing up in a big city makes it easy to forget that feeling one has as a child, where every sense is a new experience, every memory a first. Around here I'm reminded of it daily. It's very peaceful. I can be happy here.

rural Texas - a view at my dad's
It is great that you found such a place to call home. I used to live in a rural area of Texas, and when I go back there, I'm reminded of how simple life was living there. I lived in big cities before and after living there and I must say, there are times I miss the country life. I hope to be moving back to Texas within the next year.

Oh yes it is so good to be home and I am very glad and happy for you that you have found a place to call home. Just by reading your post it gives me a nice feeling. I am also very happy in the area where I live and my apartment to call it home. I have moved so many times in my life renting a room and after I got married, my husband and I purchased an apartment. I am so so glad and thankful for our apartment. it's neat, clean and the air is fresh (minus the open burning).....a comfy place called home.

I am happy for you that you have found such a wonderful place to live. I have lived in small towns in the past and they seem friendlier than large cities.

Small towns are absolutely incredible aren't they? I grew up in Brisbane, Australia which is a relatively big city. I got so used to all the people and the traffic and how everybody seems to be in an incredible rush all the time. I figured that was just how life was. But then I went and I spent some time living in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with my girlfriend. It's where the college is, but for all accounts and purposes it's a really small town. God I loved it there, and I'd give anything, absolutely anything to be back there right now.
