Can you earn money with Youtube?

I've read online that there were people who were earning money by uploading their videos to Youtube. Is this true? What kind of equipment would you need to make this work? What kind of uploading stats would there need to be to make any kind of money. This cold be something for my husband to do while he's not working.

I checked youtube and did not find any links anywhere on the site which suggest they have a payment programme. There are other sites which do pay you for videos you upload to their site. Based on the number of views your viseos get you get paid accordingly. Be sure to read the terms and conditions first.
