Will a child ever grow out of being allergic to animals?

My daughter is allergic to any animal that has fur. As soon as she pets one she starts to break out on her face, scratch everywhere, and her eyes sometimes swell a little bit. She is only four years old and I would like to know if anyone thinks that she may one day "grow out" of these annoying, allergic reactions? If she won't actually "grow out" of these reactions, is there anything that will help them not be so bad?

My allergies became much less severe as I grew up, but I do still have some congestion in response to some of my allergies. Some kids do grow out of allergies, some don't. If there is a dog or cat in her life that she wants to be able to pet occasionally there is a product sold in pet stores that helps cut down on dander. I believe it's called Aller-Pet, it might help.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to look into that product. We only own a hamster and so far she hasn't broke out with him. I pray that she does grow out of this one day.

Your daughter may grow out of the allergy- maybe. If I were you I would take her to an allergy doctor it's possible that she has other allergies as well.
