High School Violence

I carried knives in high school but I never got to use it. High school is such a violent place. I'm glad I got out of it without being hurt or hurting anyone. Cheers!!

Hi kometer, That is a question that has stumped some of the best minds in the world and I know I don't have the immediate answer. I'm hoping that all schools are doing their best to keep weapons out of classrooms and we certainly need to increase security but even then, there will be slip ups sometimes. Society as a whole has to learn that violence is never the answer because as long as children see adults using and agreeing with violence, they will think it is okay. I know that it will take a major change in our thinking to bring this about and many will say that it can never happen. Blessings.

We also heard some of such violences. I guess the adverse influence from violence games on line is one of the causes. So one way is to provide children and teenagers with more healthy forms of recreation, say songs, stories, movies, etc. And the social workers and of course the teachers should take the role in guiding them in the right direction, giving deep impression in their mind the potential consequences of violence. And the adult society should set a good example for the younger generation. Violence must be prohibited in family between father and mother, or between parents and children.

For me, we should give them the reason why we shouldn't such thing. Let them realized how worse it can get. At least they'll know why we must not do such evil thing.

I think the school violence has gotten out of hand. I blame a lot of it on the media. When something happens, they call attention to it, and they keep it on the air forever it seems. They tell what kind of weapons the students had, they just about show you the map of where the violence occurred. They also tell you about the planning of the violence, etc. It is ridiculous. If there is a bomb they tell how it was constructed. Gee why don't they just hand them the weapons, and point them in the right direction. To protect ourselves from the violence, there is no one answer. Keeping weapons out of the kids hands, getting laws past to stop the media coverage, and telling of details.
