I just watched this movie today...i know its been out for a long long time but i saw it today on HBO....and o my gosh that was the dumbest "horror" film that i have EVER seen...they dont show any one get killed...well not really...and the way the people look after they got stabbed is soooo fake...it just looks like they spilled some ketchup on their shirt...Has anyone else seen this movie?? if you have what did you think of it..was it scary or not??

It was in NO WAY near scary. There was nothing new with the plot. The effects were NOT that good either right? I agree with you with the fake stab part. I've seen it last year and good thing I just saw it online coz buying its dvd would be such a waste!

Well hollywood doesn't learn and keeps trying to repackage old movies with a fresh twist for every generation. Sorry to say that they mostly fail, for the older generation that saw the original anyway. This generation like them because it is all they have. Hollywood forgot how to make horror movies so they just redo the old ones that made money before. I really wish we could get something new in thge horror field out there. Maybe someday but the horizon doesn't show much promise now does it? Next I hear we get a new Freddy movie (Nightmare on elm street}. Please get an original idea again hollywood. The horror fans around the world need it.

I haven't seen it because I thought the original was utterly ridiculous but your review does show something positive. There has been a trend toward gore and gratuitous violence in horror movies recently. Some of the best classics never show any actual violence on the screen. Even the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw only showed one person actually killed, the rest of the murders were all left to the audience's imagination. In the original Psycho, the violence was implied only by the blood in the drain. It's kind of uplifting to see that someone took an old slasher flick and remade it without a lot of gore, leaving it all to the imagination. I'm still not going to watch it but it's refreshing to know.
