How do you know your insurance agent?

Is it a friend? Or recommended by your friend? Or a complete stranger? Does he/ she provides "enough" service for you?

Most of the people I do business with are the people that my parents used. I don't stick with them because of my parents, I stick with them because they are good. since my parents lived in my hometown since before I was born (they've since moved), we had real estate agents, insurance agents, financial advisors, accountants, lawyers, etc. lined up for years.
