A secret hiding place to put things that you don't want others to bother or take? Where is the strangest or weirdest place you have hidden something?Has anyone ever found it? I will admit I have a few strange places. one place I hide money and valuables in a tampon box..most people leave them alone. I have hid stuff under my 25 inch porcelain dolls dress even in her pantaloons, behind pictures,in vases, books,in my china cabinet,in my socks in my sock drawer. But no use searching my home right now since money is tight and you wouldn't find much but a few pennies we may have forgotten here and there. My mother in law would pin hers to her bras..so it was with her always. So do you have one? Or would you just rather not tell?

Well, that is a good idea to have a time capsule. It is always good to reminisce about the memories. Thanks again for responding.

I don't have a special hiding place. I think it is because I don't have anything special to hide.

I have hidden stuff much like you ...except for the tampon box...everybody looks there first. That's gotta be the most well used and best known hiding place...sheesh!.... I tend to hide things on the spur of the moment...I get a brainwave for a great hiding place and then I forget where it is that I've hidden my stuff. I've had some serious panic attacks over the years from stuff I have lost.

Seriously they look there first? Okay what about a used, cleaned out lipstick tube for rolled up money? Or that spot under the deodorant after it is used so much? In a flat like purse under a mattress? Or a pill bottle marked for PMS symptoms? I have even hid money in battery compartments on my radio What about inside of your computer tower? Thanks for the response.

I keep money in a tin tall round biscuit tin in the pantry cupboard....the pantry cupboard is buried in the back yard and I keep jewelery in the attachments box of my sewing machine...you have to look hard to realise it's there in amongst the attachments.

I have a safe and also have the only key. The other one's in the safe! My Mum used to hide things in the washing machine. We always looked there first. Took her years to discover that we knew where she hid stuff! LOL.

Hello, Thanks for responding to my discussion, I really appreciate it alot. I guess putting it in the freezer in a t.v.dinner box is unheard of? I have seen people do that on television. I have a money box that has a combination and I forgot it one day and had to break into my my money box..which just showed me how easy it was to break into. So I didn't feel as safe putting it in there.. well thanks bunches for stopping by and gracing us with your response. Thanks and take care.

I'm always finding new a interesting places to hide my money and my valuables. One place I hid it was inside one of my stuffed animals. I have alot of stuffies in my bedroom, so no one would even think to look in there. Of course now I have to go and find someplace new to hide things, because now that I revealed my secret hiding place, its no longer secret, and I have some nosey people who might see this and try to find stuff in my stuffies the next time they come over. LOL.

See, that's why I didn't tell any of mine. Cause I would then have the job of finding new places and then I'd never find anything.

my mom used to hide her money pinned to her bra also must be a thing. i used to hide a few extra dollars in the bottom phone book. there were several on top. this was back when the kids were little and no one hardly bothered with the phone books. but that was stupid as one day my youngest found it and bought candy with some at the store when he was 8yrs he got in trouble and i quit that spot. anyway i have an old makeup case back of closet if i have a few extra on hand now. but mostly i dont.

I don't have one of these at all! Not at the moment anyway. I used to have a hollowed out book that I kept in a library with thousands of toher books once, but that was a long time ago. These days, anything that is of significant value to me stays in my laptop bag and this bag goes with me everywhere! I travel a lot, so my possessions are minimal. The items that are most important are things like passports, credit cards and birth certificates etc and these are all very easy to carry around with me.

I tend to hide things in my sock drawer. No one really messes around in my dresser so that won't get ransacked. I've also hidden things in my laptop bag. No one bothers my things too much unless I ask someone to get something for me and that's not very often. So, I just stash things in the bag and it's left alone. I'm the only one that really has access to it and when I'm at home it's always within sight so I'm never worried about someone getting into it.

I'd never really thought about it. I guess maybe I am too trusting. I just assume if an item doesn't belong to them they won't take it. I would like to hide the o.j. from my hubby. He always seems to finish it before I get any.

Lol,That is why it is best to get two and one is yours and one is his. Sometimes I do that. I have alot of people in and out of my home and I was trusting and never hid nothing because I felt the same way. But a few years ago alot of stuff came up missing (that was expensive since it was from Avon)when I had a lot of people in my home and since then,So when I am about to have people I will go through and hide certain things that I don't want messed with. Cause till this day I don't know who took the things.

I'd rather not tell. But hiding stuff in the tampon box, that's just brilliant. Guys wouldn't go there, EVER. They think it is the PLAGUE! GOOD ONE! But the hubby has his own personal piggy bank, in the couch. He cleans underneath it once a month and often finds a relative gold mine. Especially, since here in Canada, we now have a "Loonie" that replaced the $1 bill and a "Toonie" that replaced the $2 bill. My main thing, is that I no longer carry a purse, and never have ANY money in my wallet. Gotta molest me to get my money out of my pockets. And I dare anyone to try. I'm a tough cookie.

I just love your avatar picture..Is that your cat? Cute as a button. But some sharp teeth there.. I had stopped carrying a purse so I wouldn't have to put it down when I visited people and when I left it at my sister house which was an hour away and hubby had a fit about it since she had alot of kids in and out of her house at the time like 12 kids Her next door neighbor had 7 plus her 3 then a few friends.. it was always like a party was going on because they loved hanging out there. So after that fiasco I started using a fanny pack..and did so for over a year and just a week ago I went back to a purse..but I know if I am to go to stay a few hours I will definitely throw my purse in the trunk or wear my fanny pack. Thanks for your response and have a fabulous day!

Yes, kids have a habit of searching purses, even just out of natural curiosity and important stuff can get lost that way. My avatar IS MY CAT, yes. I really resented the trolls impersonating me and copying that, as well, since it IS PERSONAL. Look at my profile page. There is a reason I am using it at present.

We usually don't have too much to hide in our home. For gifts for our kids we used to put them in our linen closet, but that got to be too much of a hassle, so instead of keeping them in the house, we put them in the trunk of the car that we don't drive regularly. We always take the truck places now, so we just shoove the kids' gifts in the trunk and move on. It's a place they wouldn't ever look. Oddly but funny, for my husband I always leave things out in the open because he's one that really notices too much, and I am always moving something around during the day, and he's gone for work alot so he don't really notice what is supposed to be there and what's not. My husband said his mom and dad always used to put his and his brothers gifts under their beds to hide them, Oddly I found this, but see her point. Most kids shoove unknown things up under the bed and never think twice to look under there for anything.

That would be a great hiding place cause alot of kids don't check under their beds unless they are made to and that is where they like to shove things when they are told to clean their rooms,Thanks for the response I appreciated it.

I hide Christmas presents in the back of my closet and in my husband's closet because our kids are not allowed to be in our closets at all. I hide sother things in my underwear drawer (not valuables, cause hey if I were a theif, that's where I'd look first) mostly cards and letters. I hide my hubby's gifts at other people's houses. I stash cash in different places sometimes. I have put stuff in the kitchen cabinets that I didn't want my kids messing with.

That reminds me of a few years ago when I went on vacaction and left my now 19 9/12 year old daughter at home. I hid money in different places so she would have the money she needed while I was gone and wouldn't spend it all at one time. Everyday she would call asking for a new place to look for it. The 2nd time I did it, she was just a bit older and she pretty much found it all without any clues besides a few. I knew something must have been up since she didn't ask until the 3rd or 4th day.

That reminds me of how my mom and dad would hide our allowance in our room and other places in the house that were our chores and if we cleaned good we would find our money if not then we would have to do a better job or someone else got our allowance if they cleaned it instead of us.

Hello Mtdewgurl. I used to have a great hiding place in the home I used to own. I had two boards cut away from the floor and I hid stuff in that. No it was never found. I also had a hole in the wall with a picture over it. But I don't have such a good place to hide stuff now. I have hid stuff in my sock drawer and it was never found. I like all your hiding places. Money tight here too so no sense in hiding any if I had any....LOL

Know the feeling we have to be very careful about how we spend our money too. Oh well maybe next month we will be in better shape....LOL I don't really believe that though. Something always comes up. Oh well it is good to struggle a little it keeps us humble. There is no reason to worry about it, it all will be better some day. Hope things are going better for you this day. Have a great day!
