Why so hard to find a job?

China

Economic turndown becomes more serious, even in China, everyone can find it. I quit my job before Chinese traditional spring year. I did really dislike that job and low earning. I thought I can easily get a better job. China seems not to be affected a lot by the economic crisis, in my opinion. However, I have been at home for about two months since I left that company. I have to feed myself and I would like to find a job even with not much salary. I have to rent my little house and pay every kinds of fees. I would not like to ask money from my parents. I have interviewed with several company, but without any good result. I found their requirements were all so much and far beyond my current ability. How should I do? I have lost myself...

Thanks for your respond. Your reason sounds interesting. hah.. Let's believe there will be many good chances for us to choose, because in China there are so many enterprises providing so many positions. Or, I think, maybe working abroad will be a better idea, if we have a chance. :)

I feel very sorry for you, as I am in the same position. Until the end of October 2008 I had a good job with salary, pension, and even a car to do my travelling for that company. Now all that is lost and I am at home. I spend a lot of time looking for jobs but since the end of October I have had only one interview. I feel sure I was turned down because I was too old (57) but they would never admit that as it is illegal in UK to discriminate on grounds of age. Good Luck, keep your spirits up and I hope something good happens for you soon.

Nice to see your response. I'm also so sorry to hear about your condition. I kept looking for a job with a lot of passion, although sometimes I feel disappointed. If I were you, maybe I will consider to do something I really enjoy, such as opening a small coffee bar, or a table tennis club...Hah, I love snookers so much. In China, 57 year-old people should have retired and they would like to enjoy their happy life with their chirldren, granddaughters and grandsons. Wish you happy everyday!
