Hi marketing and youless, here in my country, we use a bigger candle to denote the age of every ten. For instance we usually place three slightly bigger candles and the other three ordinary ones as well on the top of the cake to celebrate 33 year-old birthday. So we don’t have to take the trouble to place and to light more candles on the birthday cake.

Hi youless, I don’t celebrate my birthday with birthday cake and candles. My husband and his sister dislike eating cake so I couldn’t finish the whole cake. The cake won’t taste delicious anymore if keep it in the fridge for some days. So I prefer to pick delicious and well decorated cake in slices from the cake house. A single candle is given to customer who orders a slice of birthday cake. I enjoy celebrating my birthday with the attractive slice of cake and other delicious desserts and beverage there together with my husband there. I love the peaceful environment with melodious background music there. Yeah, if my younger sister or my son buys birthday cake to celebrate my birthday together with me at my house, I would feel happy with the amount of candles sitting on the cake, no matter how many they place on the lovely cake. Anyway the more candles on it the cake would look more brightly and attractive. Happy posting and have a nice day.

I usually only have 1 candle because I usually have a small cake on my birthday and it would be too funny to have too many candles. Besides I wouldn't want everyone to count how old I am *laughs*.

I want the candles to be the same as my age. I want to see the quantity reminding me how far I'd go with life. The many obstacles and happiness i went through.

Now that I am over thirty years old I just want one candle on my cake. LOL Honestly I am just cheap and consider just having a cake itself for my birthday is special enough that I don't want to break the bank to buy the crate of candles I would need. LOL

Hi youless, If I will celebrate my birthday today well I don't want many candles. I just want candles with numbers like 2 and 8 because I'm 28 years old. I don't want to think of my ages and I don't want some of my visitors will stare at me blowing a lot of candles. But I never did that for a long time, I just celebrated my 18th birthday and that's my first time blowing 18 pieces of candles, so happy on that day.

Well, if I had a candle on the cake to represent every year of my age... it would have to be a big cake ... big cake is good - so, I guess the answer's yes!!

I only want to have just a few candles on my cake this year, or those two number- type candles that spell out my age. Gee, I wouldn't dare have all the candles on my cake to represent all of my years, (well, at least not unless the fire truck was sitting outside or there was a fire extinguisher handy.) Hehehe!

Nope lol. While I am a female, I don't really care about my age, or who knows it. I'm not sensitive about it at all...I am the age I am (and just glad to still be on earth!) There wouldn't be a cake big enough to support all those candles without risking a kitchen fire (or burnt fingers while trying to light them all hahaha)

I don't do birthday cakes my friend! I am not a cake lover and I am not a great birthday person either. I think the last time I had a birthday cake was for my 21st and that is er er er 17 years ago now. I can't see me wanting and getting one for any future birthdays either.

I don't really care much about candles, I just look forward to the cake hehehe. We seldom use candles, maybe its because we always forget where we put the candles. hehe I would probably exert more effort to buy candles if it were my kids' birthday

Well, after the 21st birthday, it has always been one large candle. Never more than that. A birthday is a celebration of the day you were born. And a day to be thankful for cos you are who you are today because you were born. How many candles on the cake is insignificant. It is just a symbol. So, one is more than enough for that symbolism.

I am now 27 years old. I don't think it is nice to see having 27 candles in my cake. My visitors might eat the wax from the candle because there are times that I don't like to turn off the lights in the candle for about an hour. I like to have a lighted candle on top of the cake during picture taking with the cake. For me, it is enough to have number 27 candle on top of my cake.
