Parents and toys for their kids...

Yes I have thought that same thing many times! What I finally ended up doing was telling my daughter if she didn't pick her toys up when she was done playing with them that I would start taking that toy away & she would have to earn it back. Well... she put me to the test... & sure enough I locked the toy up for a week & sure enough she cried & told me she promised she pick up next time... She picks her mess up now... sometimes she says "Oh, I forgot, I'll do it later" but then I get my butt up & march to her room & act as if I'm about to lock it up again for a week & she jumps up & is right on it! My daughter is 6 though, but has been cleaning her messes up since she was 2/3... but it gets better... with me anyway... For the younger ones that really havn't started cleaning up their messes, I would do a clean up song with them & join in & help pick up & soon enough they will learn & start doing the same... I'm not sure how old your little one is.... but lincoln logs?... I feel your pain!! HAHAHA! My little guy who is 3... has his legos & stuff all over... & ever step on one? OUCH! Good luck!

what i mind a lot more is going crazy trying to find something that one of my kids wanted so badly and then a few months later coming across it, un-used and discarded. that makes me nuts!!! i learned my lesson. i don't go crazy looking for stuff anymore.
