Another sick cat

Well I wrote a discussion not long ago about my cat being sick. She lives at my mom's place and I miss her a lot, now it seems that she is not the only one having problems. I tried to call my mom this morning, no answer on the house phone so I decided to give her cell phone a call. She didn't answer that one either, it was then that I realized that something was wrong. I tried calling the house again, still nothing. I decided that there was no use getting myself all worked up until I knew what was going on. I didn't have long to wait, she called me about five minutes later. Sure enough, something was wrong. Turns out that another of my mom's cat's is sick, his name is Cotton and he is a big white fluffy baby. He's about 9 years old so he is not a kitten by any means. Well last night my mom took him to the vet becuase it looked like he was getting a cold, for those of you that don't know, yes cats can catch colds too. When she got to the vet they told her that it looked like he had a cold. They then gave him a shot and sent my mom home with instructions that if the problem continued to bring him back in. Well this morning his breathing is very irratic and fast so she went back to the vet. Now I am waitting for her to call me and let me know what is going on. I am just so tired of all this, I just wish that everything would get better and that my mom would feel better. I know that this whole mess with her cats is making her very depressed and I can't seem to get her out of it. Have you ever been in this situation? What would you do to help her get over the depression?
