my neighbours use paper plates cause they are tired of doing dishes. these people are friends of mine so i've discussed it with them about our environment and how it's not good. they don't care. they said i'll be dead in so many years so why bother. well what about our kids or our kids kids, what kind of world will they live in if people have that type of attitude. grrr things like this annoy me

Wow,what a dumb way to think. You'r right;what about the future and our children? That is so lazy and if you think about it,maybe they could put all their money together and get a maid cause obviously they are to lazy to do the dishes...that's so sad,how about laundry?do they dry themself with paper towel after showering?lol.Thingslike this annoys me too.

i know i hate doing it but it really doesn't take long. 10 minutes at the most for just the dishes from two people in my household

Try to be more understanding towards people who use paper plates. I for one work, and my wife does too. The last thing I want to do when I come home from a full day of dealing with the brats of the world is to deal with a huge stack of dishes that require being washed. After giving all I have got to the kids that day, I have very little else to give. My wife, too, is a teacher. She feels the same way I do. Everything's not about the environment. Sometimes it's just about what is convenient for the people in question. And for the record, we are not allowed to have dishwashers at our place of residence.

fine i get that but one of them doesnt work he stays home all day and she works 9 hours a week. their daughter is 21 so its not like they are too busy. i'm a single mother, i work and go to college and i spend a lot of time with my daughter but after she goes to bed the dishes get done or when she's in the bath i can get things done. it is definately possible to do it.

And for the record,it is about the environment. What are you teaching the kids? That's it's ok to be lazy or that it's all right to pollute as long as it's convenient?Just wondering..

Your neighbors are not just lazy but crazy too for not caring with the environment. I don't understand why these kind of people do exist in this world. You better not talk to them to avoid getting a bad hair day.

Well, to be honest I'm not fond of using paper plates. It can be handy during parties but if you use it daily? I don't get it. Anyways, people like them are difficult to understand...they have a mind of their own. Someday they will realize that our environment is already dying and it will be too late to save it. I just wish others would wake up...before it's too late to do anything to protect and save our planet earth.

I'm not as conscious of the environment as I could be but I still can't imagine using paper plates exclusively. We use them if we have people over for a BBQ or if we're camping but that's about it. I think the laziness actually bothers me the most. There seems to be so much laziness in society, it's just sad. I guess we're just offered to much convenience.

yeah... that's such a bad and selfish behavior. I don't use paper plate at all. I wash plates instead.

Can they recycle paper plates? I understand you think they are wasting but when they use regular plates they are using water and putting soap and whatever else down the drain and that is being used and wasted as well. I am not really sure what the right answer is or if there even is one.

I had to fight fight fight with my husband to stop using them. It's only the two of this. How hard can it be to wash a dish and silverware? He just didn't want to bother with it. I finally told him that I was no longer buying them so he was going to have to use our china. I think that it's really said that your neighbors are concerned only with themselves and not with future generations.
