Has this ever happened to you? / myLot

I was sitting in a restaurant earlier having dinner when I felt my hair lift and a slight tug and I looked up to my right to see a woman I DID NOT KNOW passing by with her companion who said "You have pretty hair." You know that moment when you're considering whether or not to respond and whether or not you're going to tell someone off? I guess the look on my face said enough for me because she kept going. I asked my dinner companion if my hair was indeed pretty because as far as I was concerned it was dry, a little puffy and in need of a wash. What would your response have been in that situation?

Well it is usuall to me, I dont have any feature or anything like that but I am just stunned when somebody compliments me this way... Happy mylotting!!

I suppose a compliment is one way to look at it.

I think I would have been taken aback by a stranger coming up and touch my hair, though the compliment is nice, she was getting in your personal space. It would have made me feel a bit awkward, but I'm sure I would still say thank you even though I probably would have had the same look upon my face as you did.

It was very awkward and I do not appreciate people touching me without permission and I thought it must have been someone who knew me until I looked up and saw the woman.

I don't recall that ever happening to me, but I have had a few people say I have pretty hair. I usually just take it as a compliment. I don't know how I would have reacted if my hair had been tugged on, even if it was lightly, by a stranger. I guess it would depend on my mood. Though if it was followed with a compliment I probably would give them a little smile and say thank you.
