Why do we sing the lullabye Rock a bye baby ...

Why do we sing this to our children when its about putting the cradle in a tree and having the wind blow and take the baby and craddle falling to the ground? I never sang this to my Son..this is an aweful some along with ..ring a round the rosie...there just sick songs dont ya think?? whats yur opinion?

haha! i love the questions you come up with. it will proably be one of those songs they will eventually retire, just like the story of hanzel and gretal.
