I'm Having an issue here... can someone help?

I just signed up for ciao. It looks like a lot of fun! But, when I click on the activation link it just shows a blank page. So, I tried logging in... it asked for activation, I typed in the code and it went to the blank page. Are they just having problems? Or is this a screwed up page I shouldn't bother with?

Do you have a firewall and internet security? I use Kaspersky and I find that with a lot of sites that use GIF I get a blank page. If you do use a firewall, try turning it off so you can log in - refresh the page, log in as normal and then start up your firewall again or your anti virus. I remember wracking my brain about what plug in am I missing, etc. It was as simple as turning off the anti virus while I refreshed the page.

How do I know if I have that on my computer. My brother made my computer, but I can't ask him because then he wants to know why I want to know... and then when I say I need to disable it a second he will freak out on me and say that I'm trying to infect my computer on purpose and remind me how much this thing is worth even though he didn't charge me because he is my brother. You can see the mess I am sure. Haha. So, would you care to enlighten me?

You simply "pause" your anti virus until the page loads, then re-activate it. If you are worried about getting a virus, then don't visit that page. I use Kaspersky, as I already explained, and it won't load certain web pages when your anti virus protection is running.
