I recently took my daughters to the pet store, we went to buy my Beta food. While we were there, my daughters had a blast. They love looking at all the animals for sale, most times they just look and don't ask for another pet. This time was a little different. We came across the bird section of the pet store and for the first time ever, they asked if we could buy one. I love birds but.... We already have a cat, dog and fish. I really don't want any other pets. I am the kind of person that forms really strong bonds with my pets and when one passes away it's more like loosing a friend than a pet. I think that it is better to wait until my daughters can take care of their own pets first. I had to say know. Do you think I made the right decision? Do you have pets? If you do have pets, what do you have? At what age do you think, a child is old enough and responsible enough, to care for thier own pets? Would you ever buy a pet for your child just because they asked?
