I am a self confessed bookworm & read whenever I get the chance - sometimes that doesn't happen that often as I am a mother to a 22 month old girl. I'm the sort of person who likes to keep a record of what books I've read so I don't by chance double up on owning the same book twice or if I forget the name of a good book, I can reference it. I keep a notebook where I write down the names & the authors of the books I've read. Does anyone else do this?

I do it online now. I keep bookshelves at www.shelfari.com, www.goodreads.com, and it works for me. I also keep one at another site but you have a limit of 200 books for free and you have to pay for unlimited membership and the like, so that's that. I may go there when I can but for now I stick to the two bookshelves online. When I was little for a while I did, but stopped.

i am a self confessed bookworm as well though i don't get to read much since i have two kids now the younger one is just turning one this month now. but i don't really keep a record. i don't buy books as there's no space to store so i actually go to the library, that's my source for books to read. and i usually remember some of the names of authors that i like. though even if i don't, i usually the read the synopsis to know a little about the story and usually will know if i've read it before. i also am a non active (hehe) member of book mooch. it's quite useful but not for me since i don't buy books. you can actually books with other people and all for books that you are looking for. this is a vague description i know but i'm quite busy so you can just search for it in the search engines if you're interested actually. it's a good site

Im a bookworm too, love reading! I however would never be able to keep a list of what I have read as I wouldnt have the patience going thru a notebook. I have came home with a new book too and started it and thank DANG I already read it! lol I also don't get the time I used to get as we are raising are granddaughter who is now 26 months old and is quite the little handful. I sneak in time at night before I go to bed and in the morning I get up to get our kids up for school and read then too!

I used to be a "Standard bookworm" :). I could finish the Harry Potter series in one single day if I was free to read. It's a really cool feeling when reading books you like! I love reading all kinds of books, novels, science books, and many others. But i can't read as often now 'cause i have so many things to do every day. However, i would take some time to read whenever i have chance. I love reading!

i love reading too, but i haven't experienced buying the same book coz i check first if i have read it already or not before buying it. i remember some parts of the book i own or have read so when i browse the book, if the story seems familiar, i don't buy it anymore. i recently got hooked to the twilight ebooks and i kept on repeatedly reading them when i was on vacation. i will even sleep around 4am just to finish reading it even if i have to wake up at 6am. im currently waiting for the full midnight sun ebook, i hope the author continues to finish it, someone distributed an unfinished copy without the author's permission and the author got mad she might not continue writing the book =(

I was a bookworm when I was young, so I wore glasses when I was about 12 yeas old. I felt tired of reading book after my graduation from university and I loved surfing. I can not remember the stories of most books I have read. It's a little pity. Reading is good to plant you manners, I think. It may be a little difficult for me to pick up reading again. Hope you bookworms can keep your good habit. Good luck!

Well, I'm a bookworm, too. I love to read, and when I'm not reading, I like to talk and discuss books. I used to list the books I've read in a notebook, then I moved up to an Excel spreadsheet. Now, I used goodreads.com to keep track of my reading which includes my read, currently reading and of course, the ever-expanding to-be-read list. I'm a big Goodreads fan, and I'm virtually addicted to the site. It's a great place to meet fellow readers and discuss books.

I'm a book worm too. I take books in the car and often in the van service. Sometimes I read before I go to bed. Of late, I'm really into audio books. I used to read all the time when I was younger but now I read less because I have less time. As I'm a writer, this is really awful. I resolved to get better (and have been getting better) as part of my New Year's resolutions for 2009.

I suppose I am a bookworm also, although I do not collect a lot of books. I get most of my books from the library. I have not thought of keeping a list of books that I read or of those I own, but it would be a good idea. I have just recently checked out a book that I had read before because I couldn't remember that I had read it. It had been republished with two books in one volume, so that threw me off recognising the book. I read it again anyway as it had been a long time since I had read it.

Yup, I have a list of the books in my collection (read and unread). I had typed this in MsExcel, and printed a copy to bring along with me whenever there's a book sale or promotion. Just to make sure that I don't end up buying the same books.

I do the same thing. I also write the number of pages and my personal rating of the books I have read. I have purchased books in the past that I have already read, and this is why I started keeping this log. I love to read and I have found that this is a wonderful way to keep everything organized.

i am also very fond of books and i read whenever i have the time, although lately, surfing the internet has been taking up much of my personal free time lol. anyway, i do love to read very much and my fondness for books goes way back to my college days. my eyeglasses are a concrete witness to my romance with the printed word. my preferences are wide. i'm into horror, mystery, sometimes practical or self-help, spiritual or love stories at times. I'm almost finished with the Twilight saga, and aside from that I'm currently reading two more books. Paparbacks and hardbound books are quite expensive these days so I resort to ebooks and/or audio books -- with more preference for the latter. I even go to the extent of hoarding ebooks! I have a 4 GB USB filled with ebooks of my favorite authors. So you see, I have a lot to say when it comes to reading. Hope I can find more friends who also love reading here on myLot. ^_^

I do not do this with the books I have read, but it sounds like a good idea. I do keep a list of the children's and young adult books I have read and own so that I do not have multiple copies of one book for my clessroom. I know that multiple copies are a good thing in this situation but I would rather have a greater variety that many of one book. Also it helps to send this list to the people who donate to my classroom (mom and sister) so they know what I have.

Not necessarily with the Books I have read, but this is a Great idea. I do tend to keep track on paper a lot of other things so I know that is a plus. I have thought of doing this with the Movies I own etc. just to keep from duplicating on them as well.

I have been a bookworm since I was a teenager. I have always gone in spurts of reading...meaning I read 4 books and then don't read for 6 months after... In the past 11 months, I have read over 30 books. Everytime I go to Walmart or Border's, I buy at least 2 books. I am a stay at home mom with a two year old. When she is napping, I pick up a book and can read the entire time. I have a book on me at all times. I spend alot of time in my car driving my brother back and forth to work...so when I am waiting for him, I read. I guess you can say, I have an addiction to reading...which is good considering the other addictions I could have...LOL. As soon as I finish a book, I start the next one immediately. And, I also have an Excel spreadsheet I keep for all the books I have read. I also keep one for books that are on my want list. Just a little side note: I started reading books by Clive Cussler in January. So far, I have read THE CHASE, POLAR SHIFT, and am now reading NIGHT PROBE. If you are a water enthusiast (ocean, lakes, rivers, etc...), I highly recommend you check his books out. They contain mystery, some funnies, history, and alot of information regarding water...very good and hard to put down!
