For the second day this week, I went to do some shopping at our Walmart. A lot of the shelves were bare. The dog food aisle - all Ol Roy and two bags of Pedigree. Diet coke last week was $3.69 for a case, last night it was $6.98. The baking aisle, there was a shelf the whole length of the aisle, bare. Most of it was supposed to be sugar. Now last week I went in and stocked as much as I could at home and I am very glad I did. I would have thought this was a fluke, but it was the same way earlier in the week. Have you noticed bare shelves in your grocery store?

we went shopping on a sunday and it seemed like there was a lot of empty space on all of the shelves. we desperately needed q tips. there was only one box left and it was hidden. on the other hand i went back a few days later during the week and everything was fully stocked. i don't know if i hit them on delivery day when everything was there, or if maybe they were too busy on sunday to stock the shelves.

It sounds to me like the grocery stores are just waiting till the last minute before placing orders so that they are not tying up cash in goods. Looks like they haven't quite mastered the juggling act though.
